“We will of course be careful in formulating a peace treaty. Our legal experts will craft the proper paragraphs to secure our rights under any contingency. We will touch our glasses with UN diplomat Jarring or whoever will replace him. And then will begin the retreat. In return for promises and securities we will rid ourselves of Judea and Samaria… But the Arabs will not be the same Arabs they were before the retreat, and the Jews will not be the same Jews.” (S.B. Bet Zvi, Zot Ha’Aretz, May 30, 1969)
This quote headed the chapter, “The Cage” I wrote about the “land for peace” dynamic in my book, Israel Awakened that explained how in 2001 the people of Israel had awakened to their end game plight but that Ariel Sharon had saved the Labor regime, subcontractors to the great powers whose goal is to degrade and re-possess Israel.
The book carries a wealth of sources from a wide range of Israeli sources, well-known and ‘just folks,’ the villains who pretend to be blind and those who have woken up, see the looming disaster but exist at the fringes of power. Readers have asked how many years I lived in Israel to acquire such in-depth knowledge of Israeli politics and culture. Please read the book, including the footnotes and hear the voices, recent and from decades ago who saw the precipice the “yishuv establishment” (as Eldad called it) has brought Israel, turning the quintessential sovereign nation into a vassal of the decadent and disintegrating West.
“The seductions of peace rotate like the glittering, multi-faceted crystals of a universal, the spinning, twinkling glass spheres that during the 1930s bathed dancehalls in glittering, shifting light. An aural analog of this dazzling intoxicant is the echo chamber of the mass media forever reverberating with the rhetoric of “land for peace.” Just as heavy fog baffles light and sound so too minds are numbed by blandishments of “peace,” by the benefits of “phased withdrawals” veiling alienation of patrimony. At the end of the long sad path of surrender beckons the blue angel whose embrace is death,” the last convulsion of geula b’ita and its terrible costs…
The distraction machine is in full gear, especially when matters pertaining to Israel are treated. It remains the obsession and target of the acquisitive and nervous West…
To understand the last ten years in detail, to see how they unfolded and what to avoid henceforth, read Israel Awakened, and be sure to read Dr. Narrett’s analysis media fascism, Culture of Terror: the Collapse of America.
For my non-Jewish readers, that translates something like, “Holey Moley, all this trouble.” Now slap your hand on your forehead, gasp a bit and say “So, now what do we do?” There a little Yiddish and Hebrew lesson all in one, complete with a bit of Middle Eastern drama.
Okay, so here’s some things to do that might help. I have just learned that the phones in Washington, DC are ringing off the walls with supporters of the two-state solution (i.e. the “piece plan”). Sidenote: This is just the PLO’s “phased” plan of destruction, outlined in their covenant which, BTW, has not been changed one iota.
The fact that the phones are ringing off the walls supporting the two-state suicide plan does not mean there are more detractors of Israel than there are supporters in America. The government, eh…kind of wishy-washy, but the people are known for their overwhelming support of Israel. There are many Americans who are misinformed, due to a lack of accurate information on the MSM, but I believe this phone ringing thing I am hearing about is mostly evidence of a difference between liberal and conservative lifestyles.
Liberals (the hard left, not old school liberals) are overwhelmingly pro-Pali, (they like anything totalitarian, but that’s a whole ‘nuther book) and politics is pretty much their religion. Conservatives are usually busy with family and true religious obligations, and are not front and center 110% focused on politics.
So, we need to plotz the kids in front of a video game or a movie for a few minutes, catch our breath, get ourselves to the phone or on the computer and make ourselves heard. The vast majority of Americans are hearty supporters of Israel, but our senators and representatives won’t act on our convictions unless we tell them what they are. I know, they follow polls on everything else, so why not this? Maybe the polls aren’t accurate? I’m being optimistic. One letter, email or phone call, in their eyes, usually represents 20 people, because typically, only 1 out of 20 people bother writing, emailing or calling (leftists excluded).
Mr. Bedein can bring experts over on the Fatah to the US, Canada and Europe. If anyone would like to help bring these experts over to speak, Mr. Bedein can find sponsors. He emphasizes that the Fatah is still at war with Israel and it hasn’t changed. Despite the many words uttered by Yasir Arafat regarding the “peace of the brave”, besides the handshake with Yitzhak Raibn, the PA parliament never approved any peace agreement between Israel and the PA.
Jay Shapiro aired a relevant radio show on the 3rd of this month, discussing the basis of the Arab/Israeli conflict. Small portions are a a bit outdated, in that Mr. Shapiro speculates incorrectly (I’m sure he’s disappointed) on how Prime Minister Netanyahu will respond to US pressure for immediate territorial concessions.
Sultan Knish says it better than I ever could — here’s a sample:
Progressive Mass Murderer
“If history repeats itself again, then Obama will be able to kill millions of Jews without firing a single shot or making a single hateful statement. He will
Reactionary Mass Murderer
simply keep the boot on Israel while extending a hand to those who would destroy it. The Holocaust will have been successfully outsourced, the lead buried and the dead countless. We have seen the Reactionary Holocaust. Now we may live to see the Progressive Holocaust. Or we may not.”
A hat tip goes to Wafa Sultan and Glenn Beck for calling my attention to the lovely, courageous Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Wafa Sultan’s full speech is featured below. I have several other videos of Dr. Sultan linked on the “Videos” page located at the top of this blog. Ayaan’s video follows.
Wafa Sultan:
“Now I am free. But I cannot forget my niece. She was forced to marry her cousin when she was ten. He was over forty. Her marriage was valid and legalized under the Islamic sharia, because Mohammed the prophet of Islam married his second wife when she was six. He was over fifty. I always remember my niece coming back to her father’s house begging him not to send her back to her husband. He would say ‘In Islam, it is shame for a woman to leave her husband (sic) house. god will reward you for obeying him.’ At the age of twenty-five, my niece committed suicide by setting herself on fire. She was burned to death, leaving four children behind her.
“In 2002 the Saudi religious police stopped school girls from leaving a blazing building because they weren’t wearing the correct Islamic dress. There were about eight-hundred female students in the school building when this tragedy took place, and at least fifteen girls were killed according to Saudi (sic) newspaper, which I don’t believe. I believe the number was much higher.
“Because of that, and because of many, many human tragedies that I have witnessed in the first three decades of my life, I have decided to fight Islam. Please pay attention to my statement. To fight Islam! Not the political Islam! Not the militant Islam! Not the radical Islam! Not the Wahhabi Islam! But Islam itself. I truly believe that the West has invented these terms for the sake of being politically correct.
“Growing up in Syria I have never heard but Islam (sic). Islam has never been misunderstood. Islam is the problem but no one is stating the truth. No one is taking a hard look at the root of the terrorism, which is the brainwashing machine called Islam. Islam is not up to me, is not up to any Muslim man or woman. Islam is exactly what the prophet Mohammed did and said. In order to understand Islam, you have to read the biography of Mohammed. It is very traumatizing. It is very shocking. He married his second wife when she was six years old. He was over fifty.
“I just came back from France. I debated with a Muslim Pakistani woman. She was the Minister of Women in Pakistan. When I told this fact to my audience, she turned to me and she said ‘It is a big lie. She was nine not six.’ It sounds like when a policeman stop (sic) you because you are driving over one-hundred mph and you turn to him and say, “It is a big lie. I was driving ninety mph, not 100 mph.’ — ‘She was nine, not six.’
“He married his second wife, she was his daughter-in-law. His son was adopted and at that time is wasn’t accepted by the pre-Islamic Arabic culture. So he turned to his followers and he said, ‘I was told by god that adoption is forbidden.’ And adoption, believe it or not, has been forbidden in the Islamic culture to justify his marriage of his daughter-in-law.
“His third wife was Sophia. She was a Jewish woman. It was well documented, well written in our school book (sic) that he attacked her tribe. He killed her father, her brother, and her husband at the same day (sic) he slept with her. That’s what I call Islam.
“You need to know. You need to understand that Islam is the problem. I am sick and tired of people here in the West asking me to soften my message. I am sick and tired of people asking me ‘Are you trying to change 1.3 billion people?’
“Yes, I am trying. Yes I am. It is not a matter of ‘I am trying’. I will change them. I want you to know that the very first value I learned when I came to this great country, that you can do the impossible if you truly believe in yourself. I not only believe in myself. I believe in many million (sic) Muslim women, like Noni Darwish, and Ayaan Ali, and we are working hand in hand to change 1.3 billion Muslim (sic). They have to realize that they have only two choices; to change or to be crushed.
“Please. Please don’t let your civilized way of thinking interfere with your defending your great country. Please, please defend your values. Please defend your freedoms. Defend the heaven you are living in. Don’t take anything for granted. I don’t. I enjoy every single minute of my American life. Just walking down my street by myself without being accused of being a ‘whore!’ is a bless (sic) for me. Just chatting with my next door male neighbor without being accused of committing adultery is a bless (sic) for me. Having a cup of coffee at Starbucks by myself is a bless (sic). Please. Please don’t take anything for granted. Please defend this beautiful country.
“My dream is to see my country Syria as free as America, not the other way around.
“When I was in Syria, I cried a lot. Now that I am free, I still cry — and much harder — for those women whom I left behind. My dream of one day having all of them free should be the dream of all humanity.
“Thank you so much. G-d bless you. G-d bless America.”
Anyone working with Muslims in order to help them, in any capacity, needs to know, the primary hope for change within Islam lies with the women of Islam. Although all people are deeply wounded and dehumanized by the imposition of sharia law, women and children are the main victims. Children are generally helpless (there are some notable exceptions that have been reported by Dr. Bulldog & Ronin — but they are exceptions). The mothers, sisters, aunts and grandmothers witness the children’s suffering, and if their consciences haven’t been totally numbed, they want to do something. They are in the best position to do something. Many of these women will need someone’s assistance, encouragement and support, even financially… in order to set themselves free.
If you truly care about Muslims, and work with them in some way, or have contact or influence at all with Muslim women, help to free them if they show interest or enlightenment. Don’t waste time on women who insist on remaining in their shackles. Time is too precious. They will see, when their society has set them free, all they were missing. For now, if you have the opportunity to help a motivated Muslim woman, consider giving her a ride to the airport, airfare to the United States, help her secure protection, identity changes, friends on the other side who can help. Do whatever it is she needs, within your abilities. You will be helping yourself as well. But do be smart and wise about this. It is a dangerous undertaking for everyone involved, as it threatens the men, who see themselves as privileged, powerful and fully deserving.
Wafa, Ayaan and other Muslim women working for change with the Muslim world, for freedom from sharia law, are overworked, and in danger. They put themselves in this danger out of selfless love for the women they have left behind in their native lands.
There is safety in numbers. If a million Muslim women are freed and able to speak their minds from the relative security of a Western nation, there will be no stopping them. The free voices of one million Muslim women can change Islam, can change Muslim society, and will certainly increase the safety and effectiveness of their campaign to set their families free. A million Muslim women with their voices heard could set the entire world free from the threats we all face.
Maybe, if we are all courageous enough — quickly enough — all of us together just might prevent an otherwise horrifying eclipse into another Dark Age. If we cower or insulate ourselves, and our free societies continue to turn a blind eye, will our children and grandchildren be able to forgive us for the chains we will have put on them by our inaction — our apathy?
The Torah teaches us that women are created to be more spiritually aware, their natures are more in accordance with HKB”H’s will. Men need women to speak up. It is part of the purpose of our more sensitive natures. But Islam silences the essential “other half” of Islamic society. Women have no place, no voice, precious little validity. Let’s help some women who know that Islam as it is currently promulgated does not teach anyone about the mind and the heart of the HKB”H, and will never bring peace to anyone, but only casts a dark veil over the conscience and spirit of all that is good within us all.
If this call to kindness towards the deserving women within Islam is ignored, if we Westerners continue being so darned polite and nice to fascists who want to remake our cultures and steal our hard-won freedoms, if we continue in our misguided efforts to respect another’s “religion” (a fallacy in the case of Islam) minding our own business, refusing to stand up for good, (and if we don’t get our heads out of the TV set!) well, I don’t want to think about what may be in store for us all in the not so distant future.
Ayaan enlightened me as to how quickly Islam can spread into imposed sharia law. She told Glenn Beck that the idea that there would be people who favored an imposition of sharia law in Somalia (her native land) was unthinkable only twenty years ago. Yaffa Eliach, in her book “There Once Was a World” said that the older Jews of Lithuania, the first country to experience Hitler’s Einsatzgruppen (death squads), could not imagine the “good Germans” they remembered from WWI being anything but gentleman. Again, this was a span of approximately 20 years. Both Ayaan’s words to Glenn Beck and Eliach’s book are most enlightening in showing how quickly a society can turn from being civilized to utterly cruel.
Civilization is a delicate flower that must be protected and nurtured, or it is quickly crushed under various versions of the jackboot, those boots often worn by men who either hide their faces, behind sheets, keffiyahs or, they may hide behind the phrase “I was only following orders.” or, “The prophet did so, thus I may (or must) do so”. In any case, such men — even while attempting to evade personal responsibility — betray their own shame.
Ayaan gives a book recommendation as well: While Europe Sleptby Bruce Bawer. Ayaan thinks Americans need to get a spine and recognize what is truly happening all around them. (I think many of the feminists and lefties need to shut up and let our men grow some ….) The predicament that most European countries find themselves in may be where we end up in a few years if we don’t listen to her.
Ayaan also wrote a book of her own, entitled Infidel.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali talking to Glenn Beck:
Glenn Beck: “Why do you do this? What is it that you feel people need to hear?”
Ayaah: “First and foremost, for those people who say, ‘It’s a small problem’ I want to tell them, ‘It starts as small but it grows.’ When I was living in Africa, the first burkhas, the first veils, the first headscarves were remarkable. Now a country like mine, Somalia, is entirely in the hands of people who want to introduce sharia or Islamic law, which was just unfathomable 20 years ago. So, yes, it can start small, but it can grow.”
Glenn Beck: “… not even Muslims are safe. They’re targeting them now in London.”
Ayaan: “Exactly. So the propagators of radical Islam are saying, ‘Unless and until you practice Islam as it is in it’s most pure form, you are not a Muslim.’ They are declaring you (Muslims) a hypocrite, and they want — yes — they wanted to behead a soldier, a British soldier who is a Muslim and who served in the British Army.”
Glenn Beck: “Have you met with anyone here in the United States that you think really gets it, and is willing to stand up next to you? Is there anybody here? Is there a woman’s organization? Is there a Muslim organization that says ‘We’re with you.’?
Ayaan: “I have met several organizations, all very concerned … The vigilance in the United States seems to me to be today better than the one in Europe. What I haven’t seen in the United States is people who are aware of the problem here today in the US, not Islam as a foreign policy, but jihad in this country.”
Glenn Beck: “A year ago I said, ‘We have to watch Dearborn.” The New York Times just had it Sunday, that this is starting to creep in. There’s an Islamic thinker society here America, here just right down the street in NYC that wants sharia law now!”
Ayaan: “I don’t have a problem with an Islamic … thinker society. What I have a problem with is that that Islamic thinker society pretends, has a front face saying ‘We want to debate, and we want to go achieve our dream through dialogue.’ and on the other side they are supporting terrorists and threatening people, calling everyone who wants to debate with them ‘Islamophobes’ and ‘racists’. That’s what I have a problem with.”
There’s more. There is so much more. Following is the short film that Ayaan’s friend and fellow film maker Theo Van Gogh was murdered over. Theo was stabbed over 25 times by Mohamed Bouyeri. Bouyeri withdrew the knife one last time, attached a piece of paper with a death threat against Ayaan Hirsi Ali to the knife, and then plunged both note and knife back into the body of Ayaan’s friend — Theo.

And then, just before Barack Obama was sworn in as President of the United States of America, Israel was forced to respond to Hamas. Say hello to the “Gaza War”. We’re all very tired from the whole ordeal.
Israel won. And then, predictably, Israel was excoriated by many liberals — Obama constituency no doubt – for winning. The IDF was accused of hair curling atrocities (no pun intended). Now, as one of his first statements since being sworn in, just days after these events cooled down a bit, no doubt even as Hamas is re-arming, President Obama has asked Israel to open it’s borders to Gaza (and Hamas, even if that isn’t the idea).
Perhaps this is an unfair comparison — obviously I don’t think so or I wouldn’t make it, but…well, I think this request of President Obama’s begs the question: If the government of Mexico should, at some point in the future, behave towards America the way the government in Gaza behaves towards Israel — and I use that term government in the case of Gaza advisedly — and Great Britain then suggests we open our borders to Mexico, will we heed the Prime Minister’s request?
Or will we respond with a resounding “Shove off, mate!” ??
At the following site, Gateway Pundit, and I’m sure a few other informed sites, we are reminded of the statistics: 78% of American Jews voted in Barack Obama. Yup. These stats are repeated with wry and/or bitter humor. We, the liberal Jews that voted this extremely liberal man into the highest office in the land, have really done ourselves in this time, and why not? We’re Jews. We get it wrong soooo often. We missed the messiah. And … and the entire messianic era or age or kingdom or whatever it is, or was and everything… just slipped right by us. Hel-lo! Anybody in there? Knock knock. Even gentiles, who understand so little about the whole Hebraic concept of messiah … even they didn’t make that mistake. So, why wouldn’t we be deceived time and time again from then until now?? That’s the sentiment. What a deluded bunch of ninnies we are.
Slapping head with palm of hand. HOW could we have missed all this obviousness?? You got us again guys, you stinkers.
Well, I’m here to point something out. At most, 16% of American Jews claim to be Orthodox. It is a truism that religious Jews, defined by me as those who observe Orthodox Judaism, are overwhelmingly conservative politically speaking, as opposed to less religious or irreligious Jews. Orthodox Jews rival Evangelical Christians in their wholesome, healthy family values.
The more nonobservant the Jew is religiously, all the way to “totally unaffiliated” the more liberal (or less conservative) he or she is likely to be politically. The divorce rate is lower among the Orthodox Jewish community than it is among Evangelical Christians too, but that’s another post.
Do you see my point? We are treated as one monolithic community, with a single mind, but that is a myth. Would that is was true in the way HKB”H would approve. Someday. Teshuvah is what we need as a people. It has already begun … happily for all involved.
So, if one thinks of Jews like I do — “How truly Jewish are you??”, the percentage of authentic Jews who voted for Barack Obama is really very small. In fact, it may be almost non-existent in the Orthodox community. I’m not excommunicating anyone by doing this. I don’t have the authority to do that yet. So, fellow Jews who are not observant … I’m still on your team.
But are you on your team?
It is plain to me that the further one strays from one’s roots, the further one strays from the values taught by one’s ancestors. Those are the folks that are pretty much responsible for the fact that there is a Jewish people in the first place. Our Sages who taught us way back when, they’re the one’s that kept our people alive, taught us to be unique and why being unique is crucial to us and the world. Those values we learned from the teachers of old made us amazing contributors to the good of mankind, disproportionate to our numbers. In short (no pun intended) if you don’t live an authentically Jewish life, you’re not going to vote for someone that will reflect or even respect authentic Jewish values.
Just because you are Jewish and you have values, doesn’t make them Jewish values, any more than a Jew eating a hot dog makes it a kosher hot dog. One needs to study to figure out what those are exactly.
Best to you all, especially … I pray for clarity for those of you who grope in the darkness. Ellie
25 January 2009 addendum:Sultan Knish, in as much harder hitting post than this one, has put forth the possibility that the numbers are completely unreliable among the broader Jewish vote, not only in the religious communities. Be sure to read his always insightful posts and learn why.
Here’s another Tarpley video on Adolf Hitler. In this video, Tarpley makes the startling statement that Hitler was supported by the Western Powers and by Stalin. The more I study current politics, the more believable this becomes.
I have some relatives who are ticked off at me because I’ve jumped off the Republican bandwagon. I don’t support any current presidential candidate. I would have supported Ron Paul. My previous post was an exploration of the possibility that we Americans may soon be enduring the rigors of martial law. I don’t know if that is true. I pray it is not. Martial law doesn’t sound good for any of us. But even with representatives in congress talking about martial law on C-span, I keep in mind this fact: People spin the news.
It may be that liberals, whether they be Republican or Democrat, are spinning the news to make it look like we’ve just undergone a coup and that martial law is imminent. Their motive may be to cause us to distrust the current administration, and vote Barak Obama into power in a knee jerk reaction of fear.
Another possibility is that all the alarms going off about the dangers of imminent martial law are true. Certainly the Patriot Act, this bail-out of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and other financial institutions are not a good signs. I don’t agree at all with many of the Executive Orders. I don’t believe they are constitutional. I worry over the fact that Habeas Corpus can be suspended. I worry over the fact that a standing army is now active on American soil. It really does appear to me that the Rubicon has been crossed. And yet, it’s also difficult to believe. I mean, this is America. I know all Americans share in my disbelief over what is going on around us, even with the facts staring us straight in the face. This is America. This is not Europe. We don’t lose our basic Rights in America. Do we?
So, for all my relatives that think I’ve suddenly turned into a liberal, I’m here to say that in my opinion, there are virtually no true conservatives left in power in America. The people who continue to be faithful to the America I learned about in school are third party candidates who don’t stand a snowballs’ chance in hell of being elected. The people who believe in limited government, in our unalienable, G-d given Rights as recognized by the U.S. constitution, written by our founding fathers, have been marginalized, made to look like kooks, extremists, dangerous.
Our moral compass is broken. As a result, our political process is broken. And we find ourselves is a desperate situation. I saw this day over 20 years ago. We were warned that this day would come…many, many times. Great men of many backgrounds and faiths have been warning us of this day for over 20 years. They said that if we didn’t turn our hearts back towards our Creator, HKB”H, and His guidelines for living, this would happen.
We have been too comfortable, too entertained, too lazy, too self-absorbed, too worried about our own personal peace and prosperity…to listen.
Here is a clip exposing Barak Obama for who he is. There are just as many exposing the opposing party and their henchmen for who they are. I am not advocating that anyone not vote. I do think it would be an excellent idea to take Ron Paul’s suggestion that all who are not happy, all who are only voting for what they see as “the lesser of two evils” should take their vote and cast it for their favorite third party candidate. If all Americans did that, 60% of our votes would go for third party candidates. None of those third party candidates would win. But the Republicans and the Democrats would know with stomach wrenching clarity that they have no real right to govern us. Their lack of moral character makes them all unfit for office. It would send a message to our government that we don’t fear them. They need to fear us.
Having said that, I have little to no confidence in the ability of the political process in extricating us out of our self-made prison. We need to pray, and we need to obey our Creator. That is all there is left. But, that is enough.
Here’s a few videos from the RNC of what seems to me to be unacceptable behavior on the part of the government, in this case the city of St. Paul, Minnesota. I posted similar videos from the DNC. If this is a problem, I don’t think it’s a problem specific to Democrats or Republicans. I think it’s another example of what I’ve observed as a very definite imfringement of our G-d given rights, as recognized by the U.S. Constitution.
I’m not going to defend any of the protesters, including the groups that are shown on the various videos. I don’t know them, what they’re about, what their tactics are, whether they were or are planning violence. These videos show only a small slice of the situation.
I don’t have some hidden agenda. What I’m really concerned about in posting these various videos is the fact that these scenes I’m looking at don’t look like the America I grew up in. Yes, there have always been riots here and there, with all the attendant problems in calming things down. But these videos show people who are not rioting, not showing any indication that they are a threat.
I don’t know if the actions to prevent dangerous rioting at the two major conventions actually violates Posse Comitatus, but from the looks of these videos, it seems the boundary between enforcing the peace and violating our rights is a razor thin line. It seems to me that the government is dangerously close to throwing it’s big hairy toe right over that line. No doubt, some of these rioters are baiting the police, trying to test them, to see if they will violate their oaths of office.
Perhaps our people are becoming so lawless themselves, that they are actually giving those in government who are also lawless an excuse. The article below is provided as a counterbalance to these worrisome videos for your consideration:
Course, this guy lives in Australia. I’m interested in hearing from folks without an axe to grind, who are or were eyewitnesses to whatever is happening in St. Paul, whether it’s protesters violating the law, or whether it’s the government violating the law. As in most things, I’ll bet there is wrongdoing on both sides. The thing is, those in law enforcement are supposed to defend the constitution of both their state and the union. Some protesters will be thugs, out to detract from other folks right to express their views. Most of the protesters are just angry citizens out to voice their dissatisfaction. The distinction has to be made. The law has to be followed. The police weren’t hired to do the job because it’s an easy one, and I think they probably knew that going in.
In contrast to what I see as the obviously overwhelming power of our government, to the point, according to some, that folks in Minnesota were in danger of having their homes raided in preemptive moves to “keep the peace”, we have this refreshing message from Ron Paul below:
