Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: “Death to Israel”

02/11/2009 · Leave a Comment

BS”D

Ahmadinejad can claim he only means to encourage a “regime change” in the region of Eretz Israel, that there is no such phrase in Farsi that would approximate the concept of wiping a nation off the map, thus he can hide behind linguistic technicalities. I have been wondering about this myself, though in either case, the man is not sounding too friendly towards the nation of Israel.

There are those who argue this point, but others are quick to point out that though that exact phrase was not uttered, that it was closer to “disappear from the pages of history”, Mr. Ahmadinejad was not using a passive tense, but an active tense, indicating more of an aggressive stance than he will admit to in the American press.

Well, there is no misunderstanding Mr. Ahmadinejad’s words in this video: “Marg bar Israel” or  “death to Israel”. Chas v’Shalom

So for those wondering if Mr. Ahmadinejad or the Iranian mullocracy is such a threat to Israel,  I think the answer is obvious.

A British Jew Committed to Prosecuting Israeli Leaders

by Nissan Ratzlav-Katz

(IsraelNN.com) Attorney Nitzana Darshan-Leitner, chairwoman of the Shurat Hadin legal advocacy organization, told Arutz Sheva Radio on Thursday who exactly is behind the effort to prosecute former IDF Chief of Staff Moshe Yaalon and other IDF commanders. He is Daniel Machover – a British lawyer who is also a former Israeli.

Machover, a co-founder of Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights, represents the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, based in the Hamas-run Gaza half of the Palestinian Authority. According to Leitner, Machover has dedicated his life to collecting evidence against IDF officers and political leaders in an effort to charge them with war crimes in Europe. He and the center he represents prepare legal ambushes for Israeli military and civilian leaders who visit European countries, hoping to bring about their arrest and prosecution.

“Attorney Daniel Machover is an expatriate Israeli, son of a Communist family that emigrated to England after the Six Day War,” Leitner said. The family left Israel because of what they saw as “the suffering of the Palestinians and the Israeli occupation. The family distanced itself from anything related to Jews and Israel and became close to the Palestinians,” Leitner continued.

According to the Shurat Hadin chairwoman, Machover has been trying to bring about the prosecution of Israeli officers long before the recent Operation Cast Lead in Gaza. “We have been following his activities for several years,” Leitner said. “Thank God, thus far he has not seen the fruits of his efforts and we hope that it will continue to be possible to foil his despicable efforts.”

The British Jewish lawyer Machover is one of a string of “former Israelis who hold hard Left opinions” who have set themselves up as enemies of Israel, Leitner explained. “The goal of people such as him is to undermine the Jewish identity and the Jewish people.”

Teen Terrorists Preferred Jail to Home

(IsraelNN.com)
Among the 20 female terrorsts scheduled to be released from prison this week in exchange for a one-minute video of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit is at least one who entered prison deliberately. The teen planned an attack along with a friend because both preferred Israeli jail to their homes in the Palestinian Authority-controlled Ramallah region.

The first terrorist to be released under the prisoner exchange deal was 15-year-old Bara Malki, who was freed Wednesday, one month before her scheduled release from prison. Malki was sentenced to 11 months in prison for attempting to stab a soldier at a checkpoint outside Ramallah.

Following her conviction, Malki argued in her defense that she had falsely confessed to planning to stab a soldier in order to be sentenced to prison time. In fact, she had never intended an actual attack, and had merely hoped to escape from home, she claimed in testimony given to the organization “Defense for Children International – Palestine Section.”

Malki explained that her parents had forced her to wear a head covering beginning at age seven, and once she hit her teenaged years, had required her to wear a long coat over her clothing as well. In addition, her parents had hit her because they suspected her of speaking to men, she said.

Planned Stabbing to Escape Marriage

Malki’s friend Samah came with her to the checkpoint, and brought a knife as well. Samah was arrested and sentenced to jail time. Like Malki, she later told Arab attorneys from DCI – PS that her goal had been to enter prison.

HRW Military Analyst is a Nazi Memorabilia Collector

‘Human Rights Watch’ Analyst Collects Nazi Memorabilia

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

(IsraelNN.com) The Human Rights Watch (HRW) organization, which has a long record of harshly condemning Israel, has been forced to suspend its senior military analyst following published revelations that he is an avid collector of Nazi military memorabilia.

The revelations several days ago that Marc Garlasco is fond of Nazi items were spread over the Internet, but HRW defended its analyst, stating that Garlasco “has never held or expressed Nazi or anti-Semitic views.” After newspapers in Britain and the United States picked up the story, “We have questions about whether we have learned everything we need to know,” said Carroll Bogert, associate director of HRW.

However, HRW knew for several days, if not longer, that published reports revealed that Garlasco, an American, wrote a book about Nazi-made medals and revealed that his grandfather was in Hitler’s army.

“That is so cool! The leather SS jacket makes my blood go cold it is so COOL!” Garlasco wrote under a pseudonym on a collectors’ site.

Pollard’s Attorney: Govt. is Hiding Dark Secrets

03/09/2009 · Leave a Comment

by Maayana Miskin

(IsraelNN.com) Jonathan Pollard’s attorney, Nitzana Darshan-Leitner, has slammed Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss’s report on Pollard. In a report released Thursday, Lindenstrauss said the United States may not have given Pollard a fair trial, and accused Israeli officials of poor coordination.

The report was “another cover-up of successive Israeli governments’ failures regarding Pollard,” said Darshan-Leitner. Pollard has exhausted his legal options in the U.S. and is relying on Israel for help, she said.

Israel’s government remains indifferent to his plight, she accused. “No government, at any time, has made any effort to free Pollard during his entire 24-year term in prison,” she said. “The government of Israel is still pretending that Pollard’s activities took place in an irregular operation run by Rafi Eitan, and were not coordinated by the highest state officials.”
