These nine days have kept me very busy, focusing on teshuvah. Between that and Shabbos prep I can’t spend much time here today!

Hillel Fendel’s article from Arutz Sheva, linked below, reveals some rays of hope in Israel. The comments are interesting too. Good for you Ma’ayan. This is the beginning of your journey back to your people…not Israelis…not kibbutzniks. JEWS. But it is only the beginning. Restitution is a part of teshuvah.

Female Soldier Asks Forgiveness of Gush Katif Expellees

All who took part in this tragedy must make restitution for their teshuvah to be meaningful. It is the same for all of us, since we all have some things that require teshuvah. I’m not one that can point fingers. But for healing, both of the victim and the victimizer, words must accompany actions. The harm needs to be undone as much as possible. In my opinion, these people deserve to have homes and businesses built that are bigger and better than the ones stolen from them. They have endured so much suffering since those terrible days.

The soldiers or anyone else in the government who played a role in this horrible tragedy might consider getting together and doing what they can, even funding their restitution from their own pockets, to make things right for these families.
