Why They Stay

Some of you have written me and asked why the residents of Sderot stay there. Why don’t they move?

Granted that some have left, there are many who remain – for different reasons.

1) Hamas is not after Sderot for its own sake. It’s a stepping stone. If the people of Sderot flee, the way is open for the next city. To their credit, Sderot residents aren’t of the calibre to run, but to stand against their enemy and the enemy of Israel.

2) On a very practical level, what would they do with their homes and how would they get other ones? Most if not all famlies have a mortgage on their home. I can assure you no one is looking to buy a house in Sderot at the moment. These families can’t sell their home and if they pack up and move out, paying the mortgage continues and who can afford two mortgages? No one will even rent their home.

It is absolutely VITAL that you understand what terrorist groups REALLY think and the long term agenda to which they are absolutely committed, not just toward Israel but toward the United States and Europe as well.
